Hair Transplantation

Alopecia or hair loss

Alopecia is a skin disease which refers to any form of hair loss, hair thinning, or balding anywhere in the body. It is more likely to occur in teens & adults, but can also affect older ones and rarely toddlers.

Hair loss generally goes untreated, as it is not considered as a disease, besides regular hair fall is also a natural phenomenon. It is normal when one lose 80-100 hair a day on an adult head, but losing of more than that can lead to unfortunate consequences such as baldness. However, alopecia is not contagious, so one does not worry about catching from or spreading to other people.

Most of us takes our health and hair locks for granted until they’re gone. For people, thinning up top or going bald really bothers, than a hair transplant can help bring back your precious hair which might looks like a full – or at least a fuller – head of hair and the procedure can be one way to feel more confident about your looks.

Procedure of hair transplantation at Kutiz

Hair transplantation is a type of surgery that moves hair you already have to fill an area with thin or no hair.

Our doctor will process the transplant which is called Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). FUE procedure includes-

  1. Back of the scalp will be shaved.
  2. Hair follicles will be removed one by one from the scalp.
  3. Scalp area will be healing with small dots, which your existing hair will cover.
  4. Grafts will be prepared; the surgeon will clean and numb the area where the hair will go, creating holes or slits with a scalpel or needle, and delicately places each graft in one of the holes.
  5. Time will depend on the size of the transplant; generally it takes about 4-8 hours.

You might need another procedure later on if you continue to lose hair or wants thicker hair.

Expectations and Recovery

After the surgery, your scalp may be very tender. You may need to take pain medications, an antibiotic, an anti-inflammatory drug for several days.  You will have to wear bandages over your scalp for at least a day or two. Most people are able to return to work 2 to 5 days after the operation.

Within 2 to 3 weeks after surgery, the transplanted hair will fall out, but you should start to notice new growth within a few months. Most people will see 60% of new hair growth after 6 to 9 months.
